Walbran Creek
One of the best camps on the trail, Walbran Creek has it all. With many great camping spots, a beautiful view, swimming in a deep pool in the creek, and easy access to amenities it's no wonder this is such a popular spot.
Located on the south side of the creek this spot has lots of room to spread out along the ocean shore, the edge of the creek, or at several sites in the forest. A large gravel bar usually forms across the mouth of the creek in summer, creating a deep swimming pool perfect for washing away trail grime.
Do NOT be tempted to camp in the caves on the north side of the creek as water levels can rise quickly and flood them.
Walbran
Amenities
The bear bins and double outhouse are located in the forest an equal distance from the edge of the creek or the ocean sites.
Camp Water
Water at Walbran should be collected from upstream of the swimming area closer to the cable car crossing.
History
Walbran Creek was once the site of a lineman’s cabin built in 1890 to service the telegraph line; the structure remained standing into the mid-1970s, long after it had outlived its original purpose.
