Klanawa River
Klanawa River campsite is a great location with a wide sandy beach on the north side of the river and a few good spots in the forest.
With excellent swimming and a beautiful beach the Klanawa River campsite is a great option for hikers seeking a quieter camping experience compared to very popular Tsusiat Falls only 2 km south.

Amenities
Outhouse and bear bins are located along the trails linking the beach and the cable car.
Camp Water
Klanawa River water can be brackish especially at high tides - filter from near the cable car.
Water can also be found on a creek on the south side of the cable car. This may dry seasonally, if dry - look for where the creek enters Klanawa river upstream on the south side - a dense side trail marked with orange tape about 20 m from the cable car provides access.
History
Long ago the north side of the river used to have a smokehouse and fishing huts, and was also the home of a character named Klanawa Charlie who lived here alone year round and ferried people across the river for a fee.
