Carmanah Creek
Carmanah Creek is a favorite spot of those few who actually camp here, but located between Walbran and Cribs it is not usually on most hikers' itineraries. Campsites are located on a huge, open sandy beach with lots of driftwood and an amazing view highlighted by the Carmanah Point Lighthouse.
It may be hard to imagine, but it is occasionally possible to have this incredible campsite all to yourself - even in July or August!
Carmanah
Amenities
Outhouse and bear bins located in the forest, usually accessed by scrambling over piles of old drift logs.
Camp Water
Carmanah Creek has excellent water, but it should be collected from the point where it flows into the pool just upstream from the cable car.
Do not collect water from the pool itself or from the runoff into the ocean, as it may be brackish.
The pool is often used as a bird bath by the hundreds of seagulls that sometimes gather along the beach to the north, and seagulls don't improve the taste.
